A. General Questions
1. What is the Amazon SSD Programme? What are its benefits?
SSD (Same-Day Delivery) is an Amazon fulfilment programme where sellers place their inventory in SSD-enabled fulfilment centres so that customers located nearby can receive their orders within the same day.
Amazon handles ultra-fast picking, packing, and delivery through its express delivery network.
Major benefits:
Higher conversion rates due to same-day delivery badge
Access to premium, high-intent customers
Increased Buy Box chances
Faster inventory movement and lower ageing
Improved customer experience → better ratings
2. How can sellers join the SSD Programme?
Any seller using FBA can join SSD if they meet these conditions:
The seller must place stock in an SSD-enabled FC located in the target city.
The products must qualify for SSD-eligible categories.
The seller must maintain healthy inventory levels in those FCs.
Once approved, the seller can start inbounding stock to SSD FCs.
3. Do SSD serviceable cities and FCs change?
Yes. Amazon updates SSD-eligible cities and FCs based on regional demand.
Sellers are notified of any changes and can opt out if required
4. Can sellers select specific SSD Fulfillment Centers?
Generally yes — sellers can choose which SSD FC they wish to inbound stock to.
However:
Amazon may recommend the best FC based on demand analytics.
If a chosen FC has space constraints, Amazon can assign an alternative FC.
B. Operations
5. Are all ASINs eligible for SSD?
No. Only selected product types qualify. Restricted items include:
Oversized or heavy-bulky products
Fragile or damage-prone items
Products requiring cold storage
Certain regulated categories (unless compliance is completed)
Amazon allows ASINs that are:
Fast-moving
Lightweight
High-demand within the SSD service area
6. How much stock should sellers send for SSD?
Recommended quantities are shown in the Restock Inventory Dashboard (RIM).
Sellers should maintain sufficient stock to avoid “Out of Stock” since SSD demand is fast-moving.
7. How is storage space allocated inside SSD FCs?
Amazon assigns storage based on:
Category performance
Sales velocity
Previous fulfilment history
Common SSD inventory limits are smaller than standard FBA because SSD FCs are high-speed facilities.
Amazon reviews limits every 4 weeks.
8. How is the inbound appointment booked?
Sellers raise an inbound appointment request in Seller Central.
Once the shipment is received in the SSD FC, Amazon handles internal processing.
9. What is the processing time after stock reaches an SSD FC?
SSD FCs are high-priority fulfilment centres.
Typical processing (check-in to sellable status): 1–3 days depending on volume.
10. Is inventory saleable during internal movements inside SSD FCs?
Yes. Inventory moving within the SSD network shows as “Reserved” and remains available for customer orders.
11. Where do customer returns go?
Customer returns are routed to:
The invoicing FC, or
A designated return consolidation centre (if enabled by Amazon)
The seller receives detailed return reports in Seller Central.
12. How are removal orders handled?
Removals must be created from the FC where the inventory is physically stored.
Amazon consolidates removal shipments whenever possible.
13. Are there any packaging changes for SSD?
No major changes.
Single-ASIN shipments: Seller’s packaging remains intact.
Multi-ASIN shipments: Amazon may apply secondary packaging to ensure fast delivery.
C. Commercials
14. What fees apply for SSD?
SSD costs are included in FBA fee slabs.
Additional benefits include:
Priority placement
Express delivery badge
Higher sales potential
Amazon may apply separate SSD fulfilment fees depending on region.
15. How is the weight handling fee calculated?
Weight fees are calculated only on the unit weight of the ordered product, not on the box weight.
16. Who is responsible for damage in SSD FCs?
Amazon takes full responsibility for damages under the FBA Damage Reimbursement Policy.
17. How is invoice value determined for transfers between SSD FCs?
If the seller has provided a declared value, Amazon uses that.
If not, the system uses internal product valuation based on your offer/list price.

18. Do sellers get detailed SSD inventory reports?
Yes. Available reports include:

19. Can sellers download invoices for SSD transfers?
No. SSD internal transfers do not create GST invoices.
Sellers only get movement reports.
However, customer order invoices can be downloaded normally.
20. What is the e-Waybill rule for SSD?
e-Waybills are required only for shipments exceeding state-wise value limits.
Amazon files e-Waybills wherever applicable on behalf of the seller.
21. How do sellers download e-Waybills?
Sellers can download them directly from their e-Waybill portal login.
22. Does SSD require e-Invoicing?
Amazon follows all e-Invoicing regulations based on FC addresses.
